Mr. John Artie White, age 95, of Barnesville passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 in a Upson County Healthcare Facility. Mr. White was a native of Lamar County having been born to the late Mr. John A. White and the late Mrs. Fannie Ione Smith White. He was a Veteran of the armed forces having served in World War II, and was a member of the New Life Baptist Church of Barnesville. Mr. White was preceded in death by his Wife Mrs. Dorothy White, and by his Son Mr. Johnny White.

Mr. White was retired from Lamar Housing Authority.

Survivors include 2 Daughters – Barbara (& Jim) Hughes ; Carol White Sutton ; Grandchildren – Jake (& Kim) Sutton ; Jeff (& Betty) Sutton ; John (& Melanie) Sutton ; Greg (& Nancy) Hughes ; Mark (& Pam) Hughes ; Jill (& Tony) Crews ; Scott White ; Stephanie Faulkner and Brad (& Melissa) White and a host of Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews ; and one Sister Frances Cloud of Barnesville.

Funeral Services for Mr. John White will be conducted on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11 O' Clock in The New Life Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Sunday evening, August 28, 2011 from 7 pm until 9 pm.
