Mrs. Joy Grace Desch, age 66, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Joy was born on Sunday, January 25, 1959, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late John Warren Smith and the late Betty Ann Bunn Smith, along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Annie Staples.

Her name was Joy Grace and that is what she carried. Those gifts are what she shared in her life. When God called her to serve, she answered quickly, boldly and singing for the King wherever God opened doors. Country music contest winner, she was able to make a gospel music CD to further her ministry. Using her skills attained in her 20 years in the United States Army. She was able to march boldly to the pulpit to arm and equip God's army as Associate Pastor and Clerk at the Good Shepherd Worship Center. A place she built so all would know the LOVE, Joy, and Grace of the Lord.

Joy is survived by her husband of 43 years; Stephen Desch; daughters, Tammy Nicholson (Tim), Niki Jo Stubbs; grandchildren, Kathrine Pearce, Tyler Stubbs, David Nicholson, CarleighJo Desch; she was the 3rd daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, sister, Bonnie Jones (Terry), Donna Brantly (Bobby), several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Joy Grace Desch will be held on October 25, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Worship Center. Friends may visit with the family following the service.
