Mrs. Joyce Gene Griggs Kirkland, age 83, of Barnesville passed away Wednesday, November13, 2013 in a Griffin Healthcare Facility. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Mr. Jesse Burton Griggs and the late Mrs. Katherine Elizabeth Reedy Griggs. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Melvin Eugene Kirkland. She was a teacher for the Clayton County School System and the Cobb County School System.

Survivors include: 1 Son- Dan (& Barbara) Kirkland of Powder Springs, Georgia; 1 Granddaughter- Katherine (& Chad) Moran of Hiram, Georgia.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Kirkland were privately conducted from the Graveside on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 2 O' Clock in Lamar Memory Gardens with Reverend Franklin Gibson officiating.
