Mr. Karl Henry Heidbrink (Karl), age 82, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 8, 2021 at home.

Karl was born on Saturday, July 8, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Erwin Heidbrink and Lois Lechner Heidbrink. Karl was a lifelong Christian. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jill Heidbrink.

Karl is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Julia Deans Heidbrink; daughters, Linda, Julie, and Denise; and a host of extended family.

Karl was a graduate from Notre Dame University and Stephens Institute of Technology in New York. His Master's degree was in Business Administration. He worked at IBM and was a professor at Stephens Institute of Technology. Karl loved participating in Barbershop Chorus and Quartets and sang in competitions with his local chapter. He was a motorcycle aficionado and loved to go on adventures on his bike. He was an expert outdoorsman and loving camping, fishing, canoeing and anything outside.

Karl moved to Barnesville in 1997 to become the devoted husband of Julia Heidbrink, the love of his life. Together, they raised Arabian Horses, developed a kennel of German Shorthaired Pointers, and competed in field trials and hunt tests throughout the southeast.

A memorial service is being planned in memory of Karl's life. Details will follow soon.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Beth Yeshua International in Macon GA or to Mountainview Baptist Church in Thomaston GA in the name of Karl Heidbrink.
