Mr. Kenneth Franklin "Buddy" Nicholson passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at his home after a long illness.

Buddy was born in Reddick, Florida on July 9, 1941 to the late Horace M. Nicholson and the late Maggie Kendrick Nicholson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ella Virginia Nicholson. Although nearly blind for most of his adult life, Buddy was well known in the Barnesville area for his long walks around town every day, wearing out numerous pairs of shoes along the way. Although burdened by poor vision, and thus unable to recognize faces, he would immediately recognize a friend by that person's voice and would return the day's greetings. He knew the birthdays of many people around town and would often drop into a business on someone's birthday to wish them "Happy Birthday."

He is survived by his sister, Edna Vaughn; nieces and nephews, Gina Bowdoin, Kay Grant, Jesse Bowdoin, Ronnie Vaughn, and Kent Nicholson; also, by his friend and care-giver, Dan Morgan.

A graveside service will be held at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jeff Morgan officiating.
