Mr. Larry B. Whitworth, age 81, of Barnesville passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born on Friday February 5, 1943, in Barnesville Georgia, to the late Joe B. Whitworth and the late Myrtice Whitworth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Whitworth.

Larry was a lifelong resident of Barnesville. Mr. Whitworth graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology with a Master's Degree in Textile Engineering. He retired with over 40 years as a QC Manager at Continental Tire/Aldora Mills.  Mr. Whitworth served as a Major in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of the local Masonic Lodge and Kiwanis Club. He served as Councilman on the Barnesville City Council. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville, where he was a Lay Leader and a Sunday School teacher.

Larry is survived by: his, Son - Erick (Danielle) Whitworth of Columbus; Daughters - Stephanie (Don) Griffin of Lawrenceville & Lauren Walker of Orchard Hill; Grandchildren , Lexie, Blanton, & Caitlyn Whitworth of Columbus, Madison & Logan Griffin of Lawrenceville, & Ryder Whitworth, Weston and Kaise of Barnesville ; Brother, Terry (Mary Lee) Whitworth of Cumming ; and Several Nieces, Nephews, & Other Relatives.

A Memorial Services for Mr. Larry B. Whitworth will be conducted Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church of Barnesville with the Reverend Jay Tenney and Pastor Ann Mann officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M..

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville in memory of Larry Whitworth.
