Laura Kay "Katie" Ertel George, age 58, of Jonesboro passed away Monday evening, July 28, 2014 in a Fayette County Healthcare Facility. A native of East Point, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Ivan David Ertel and the late Mrs. Pauline Rebecca Starnes Ertel. Mrs. George Retired after 26 years as Administrative Secretary for the Atlanta City Council.

Survivors include: Her Husband – Tommy George of Jonesboro ; Her 3 Children – David (& Tanya) George of Hampton, Patience Leigh George (& Donald) Burton of McDonough, & Tommy Dwight (& Terri) George, Jr. of Hampton ; 3 Siblings – Barbara Jean Crowe of Kentucky, Paul Robinson of Jonesboro, & Dorothy Maxine Smith of Jackson ; 7 Grandchildren – Brooke, Kaylynn, Jacob, & Faith George, Joey & Corey Burton, & Braydin George ; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs, Laura "Katie" George will be conducted on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 2 O'Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 12 Noon until the service hour.
