Mrs. Louise Lovejoy Jackson, age 107, of Barnesville passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in a Barnesville Healthcare Facility. Mrs. Jackson was born on September 19, 1906, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Mr. William Cotter Lovejoy and to the late Mrs. Antionette Magarite Bert Lovejoy. She was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jackson graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1927. She started the first Girl Scout Troop in this area around 1934. Mrs. Jackson completed a Masters Degree in Library Science from Emory University in 1958 and was the Librarian at Gordon Military College. In 1993 Mrs. Jackson was named outstanding citizen of the year and served as grand marshal in the "Buggy Days" parade. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her Husband, Dr. James Holland Jackson, Sr.

Survivors include her 2 Sons – James Holland Jackson, Jr. (& Eileen) ; & William Cotter Jackson (& Davis) ; her Daughter – Nancy Jackson Thomas ; 4 Grandchildren – Edward Albert Thilenius (& Debbie) ; Nancy Elizabeth Graham (& John) ; James Robert Thilenius (& Michele) ; & William Jackson Thilenius (& Shelley); & 3 Great Grandchildren – Elizabeth Ariel Thilenius ; Grace Louise Graham ; & Garrett Robert Thilenius.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Louise Lovejoy Jackson will be conducted at 11 O' Clock on Saturday, December 21, 2013 with the Rev. Dana Overton-Garrett officiating in Greenwood Cemetery. Following the Graveside Service a Celebration of Life will be held at the Barnesville First United Methodist Church.
