Maggie Louise Gaylor-Brown, of Flovilla, GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at home. She was born April 14, 1935 in Douglasville, GA to the late Harley Leo Ballew and the late Ruby Pearl Brookshire Ballew. Mrs. Brown enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting and loved her family. She visited Rock Springs Church and loved the people there, however, due to her health deteriorating over the past few years, enjoyed watching and doing Bible study at home with "Shepherds Chapel" on TV. She knew she was ready to go meet her Lord. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by the father of her children, Rudolph Gene Gaylor; her husband, Johnny P. Brown; son, Buster Gaylor; 3 brothers, Grady Lee Ballew, Harley Leo Ballew, Jr. and Thomas James Ballew; sister, Mary Frances Thrash; and granddaughter, Melissa Lynn Bishop. Maggie Brown is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and James Mathews, of Flovilla, Teresa Huff, of Douglasville, Karen and Tom Rhodes, of FL; son and daughter-in-law, Randy Gene and Sandra Gaylor, of Flovilla; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Delmer (Doc) Poteet, of Murfreesboro, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Carlene Ballew, of Kamiah, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Maggie Brown will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Benny Tate officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday evening.
