Mrs. Martha Laverne Slaughter Davis age 81, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017, in an Upson County health care facility. She was a native of Thomaston Ga, having lived most of her life in Barnesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles Lamar Davis, her father Mr. George William Slaughter, and her mother Mrs Emma Lela Parker Slaughter. Mrs. Davis was an assembly line worker, having worked at Federal Paperboard in Thomaston. Mrs Davis served Faithfully at Pineview Baptist Church and was a member of Aldora Methodist Church.

Survivors include, Daughter - Debora Massey of Barnesville; 2 Step Children - Floyd Davis (Charlene) of Barnesville and Charles Davis (Freda) of Juliette ; 2 Grandchildren - Jackie Roberts (Bobby) of Barnesville, and Kimberly Massey of Barnesville; 2 Great Grandchildren - Tyler Brooks, Gabby Roberts, and Anna ; 7 Step Grandchildren, 11 Step Great Grandchildren, and 2 step Great Great Grandchildren

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Laverne Slaughter Davis will be conducted Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 4 o'clock in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Reverends John Roberts and Franklin Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens, with the Reverend Chip Garrison officiating. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home in Barnesville on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 6 until 8 pm.
