Mrs. Martha "Marti" Ann Thompson Peterson, age 84, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023.

Marti was born on Thursday, June 29, 1939, in Commerce, Georgia to the late John Thompson and the late Helen Cross Thompson.  She was a member of Jackson Presbyterian Church. Marti was a people person. She enjoyed meeting people, working on projects with others, and developing lasting friendships. Above all she was a woman of faith and tried to exemplify the Lord. She loved taking care of friends, doing things to make them feel better, and share the joy of the Lord. Her first response was always "what can I do to help". In her spare time, she liked to travel and go camping. Most of all Marti loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Marti is survived by her husband of 62 years, Pete Peterson; children, David and Tru Peterson, Karen Phillips; grandchildren and spouse, Patrick Peterson, Ashley Phillips, Morgan and Brian Stockton, Justin Phillips; sisters and brother-in-law, Sue Thompson, Juanita and Don Mock; brother, John Thompson; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mrs. Marti Peterson will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Jackson Presbyterian Church at 2:00 P.M. with Dr. S. Ed Hoard officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Jackson Presbyterian Church, 240 North Oak Street, Jackson, Georgia 30233.
