Mrs. Martha "Joyce" Swearingen, age 75, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, in Griffin, Georgia.

Joyce was born on Sunday, April 27, 1947, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late Devoe Nicholson and the late Ruby Estelle Nicholson. Joyce was proceeded in death by her loving husband, of 49 years, Ray Swearingen; parents; and brothers, Herman Nicholson, and Leonard Nicholson. Joyce loved country music and played the guitar all her life. She loved to test her luck playing the lottery and bingo. Joyce also enjoy various other activities, from deer hunting to clogging.

Joyce is survived by her daughters and their partners, Michelle Swearingen and Dee Sinclair, and Cristy and Erin Swearingen; grandchildren, Luke Mervin, Libby Mervin, Harper Smith, and Annabelle Smith; and sisters, Janice Blount and Betty McDaniel.

Funeral service for Mrs. Swearingen will be on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Reverend David Dawson officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
