Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Preslar Broome, age 97, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Mary was born on Thursday, March 8, 1928, in Polkton, North Carolina to the late Howard and Flora Preslar. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Broome; daughter, Rhonda Belk; brothers, Horace Preslar and Curt Preslar. Mary was a very devout Christian and member of Rivers Crossing Church in Matthews, North Carolina where she taught Sunday school for 15 years. She was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and was a fantastic cook.  Most of all, Mary loved her family.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Barbara Gillis; grandchildren, Erin Hart, Jennifer Blomqvist, Wendy Belk, Tina Bennett, Richard Gillis; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A memorial service for Mrs. Mary Broome will take place at Chief Cornerstone Ministries on October 25, 2025, at 1:00 P.M.

A second memorial service in North Carolina will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Sharon Memorial Gardens, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
