Mrs. Mary Rene "Nene" Chamblee , age, 72 of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Nene was born on Monday, July 28, 1953, in Cummings, Georgia to the late Crafton Martin and the late Wynell Goldielle Whitmire Martin. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Chamblee, sisters, Rita Martin, Anita Martin and Lisa Teal.

Nene was the first female law enforcement officer in Lamar County, beginning her career with Lamar County Sheriff's Office in 1983. She later worked as an agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for several years, before transitioning to a position as an Investigator for Bibb County, from which she retired at the age of 62. Nene also raised thoroughbred horses during her years of retirement, sending them to Kentucky and Texas for their racing careers She loved spending time with her "hunka burnin love" twins, Coen and Owen, she enjoyed being around them both. She loved spending time outdoors, gardening, and going to the beach.

Nene is survived by her daughter, Michelle Harris (Tracy); grandchildren, Cheridan Delaney "Laney" Maynard, Peyton Maynard (Allison); God-children, Dan Owens (Dawn), Nicole Fordham (Cody); God-grandchildren, Owen Lee Fordham, Coen Lee Fordham; sister, Penny Bennett (Jim). She is also survived by, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Funeral Service will be held for Mrs. Mary Rene Chamblee on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 4:00 P.M. at Williams- Westbury Funeral Home, with Pastor David Dawson officiating. Interment to follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2:00P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home.
