Mrs. Mary Ruth Smith Parker, age 91, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023.

Mary Ruth was born on Thursday, January 7, 1932, in Jackson, Georgia to the late Doyle Lewis Smith and the late Maggie Bell Jones Smith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Roscoe Parker; sons, Keith "Beefie" Parker, and Tony Parker; sisters, Peggy Smith Cook and Dorothy Smith Smarr.  Mary Ruth was a member of Second Baptist Church for 50 years and for over 10 years a member of Flovilla Baptist Church. She enjoyed a wonderful church life. Mary Ruth enjoyed reading, cooking, and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Mary Ruth is survived by her granddaughter and spouse, Heather and Chris McGill; grandson and spouse, Shane and Jenna Parker; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Maurice Cook; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Ruth Parker will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dave Nelson and Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour before the service at the funeral home.
