Mary Bernice Crawford Timmons, 86, a lifelong resident of Barnesville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday morning, September 20, 2023.

Bernice was member of the Martha Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville. As a young woman, she graduated Gordon College with honors and went on to retire from a career as a Supervisor for Southern Bell.

Mrs. Timmons was preceded in death by her parents James Thomas Crawford and Myrtis Jones Crawford. Her husband Richard J. Timmons passed away in 2008 after 49 years of marriage. Together they walked on beaches, grew veggies, and took care of each other. Bernice is lovingly remembered by her stepson Richard Daryl Timmons, her four grandchildren Craig Timmons (Brandy), Jennifer Edwards (Tommy), Jill Brown (Kayla), Ginger Timmons, and seven great-grandchildren. Her sweet and genteel spirit will be missed by friends and loved ones.

Graveside funeral service to be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday, September 23 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jason Teal officiating.
