Mrs. Melinda Ann Barfield, age 61, of Yatesville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Melinda was born on Monday, July 3, 1961, in Monroe County, Georgia, to the late Melvin Lee Thaxton and Nedra Pippin Thaxton. Melinda was proceeded in death by her father Melvin Thaxton; sister, Amy Thaxton; grandparents, Bill and Opal Thaxton, Waymon and Annie Laura Pippin; mother-in-law, Lee Barfield; brother-in-law, Robert McKie; niece, Melissa Stephens. She was a homemaker who loved her family and dog Ralff. Melinda was very devoted to her family and loved spending time with them every chance she got.

Melinda is survived by her loving husband, Howard Gilbert Barfield; daughter, Jordan Barfield; mother, Nedra Thaxton; brother & sister-in-law, Kevin and Betsy Thaxton; brother, Greg Thaxton; sister & brother-in-law, Kaye and Wade Burk; sister in law, Patsy McKie, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD. 21741 in Melinda's honor.
