Mr. Michael David (Mike) Montgomery, age 47, of Griffin, GA, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 17, 1963 in Thomaston. Mike was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. He was the retired Chief of Police for Jonesboro, GA, worked for the City of Jackson, Henry Co. Sherrif's Office and City of Zebulon. He loved his family and enjoyed NASCAR racing and football. Mr. Mike Montgomery is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Montgomery, of Stockbridge; son, Tony Montgomery, of Griffin; mother and father, Linda and Butch Mundy, of Milner; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Lou Montgomery, of Lovejoy, Jay Montgomery, of Griffin, and Ken and Jessica Mundy, of Milner; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa McClarty Mongonmery. Funeral services for Mr. Mike Montgomery will be held at 2:00 PM December 9, 2010 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Terrell Hopkins officiating. Interment will be at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery in Griffin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM.
