Nettie Lou Strickland, age 100, of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Nettie was born Wednesday, October 21, 1925, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Hugh Merrill Combee Sr. and the late Emma Torbush Combee. Nettie was born a twin and in later life became a Christian. Nettie spent much of her adult life in the restaurant business. Every day she lived out her strong work ethics and extraordinary cooking skills she learned growing up.

She loved to fish, cook and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with family. She would do anything for anyone. Nettie truly loved life.

Nettie was preceded in death by husband, Tommy Lee Strickland; her son, Ronald Allen Terrell; brothers, James Combe, Hugh Merrill Combee Jr.; and sisters, Charolette and Betty Lou. Nettie is survived by her son, Gary Terrell; niece, Mary Linda Rattliff; nephew, Merrill Combee; grandchildren, Scott Maddox, Holley Terrell Kenyon, Jake Kenyon, Gary Terrell II; nine great grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Stephen Strickland, Deborah Strickland English; and many extended family members.

A memorial service for Mrs. Nettie Strickland will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Sherrell Memorial Chapel. Visitation will take place from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
