Dr. Olin Carl Dobbs, 89, of Barnesville, GA passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Church Home LifeSpring nursing home in Perry, GA.
Dr. Dobbs was born on December 7, 1932, in Jackson MS, to the late Olin Carl Dobbs Sr and Nina Spiers Dobbs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Dobbs; sister, Angeline Dobbs Breitenbach, and brother, Rason Dobbs. Dr. Dobbs graduated from Medical College of Georgia in 1957. He then went on to serve his country in the United States Army where he retired after 20 years of service. While in the military, he earned the rank of Colonel. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, hiking and puzzles of all kinds.
Dr. Dobbs is survived by his sons David Carl Dobbs (Carla), Charles Wade Dobbs (Denise), John Scott Dobbs, Robert Steven Dobbs, daughter Nina Suzann Dobbs, grandchildren Marcia Topiwala (Sonny), Nikolai Dobbs (Stephanie), Nina Cathleen Kimball (Jason), Sarah "Cal" Dobbs, four great grandchildren, brother Nathan Dobbs (Judy), sister Susan Lazzell, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Memorial Service for Dr. Olin Carl Dobbs will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Barnesville with Reverend John Roberts officiating. Friends may visit with the family following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to one of the following organizations that he supported: Ebenezer UMC, Lamar Arts (Barnesville Depot), Wounded Warriors, Alzheimer's Association, Public Broadcasting, National Park Foundation, Easter Seals
