Mrs. Opal Jewell Milner, age 93, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Brightmoor Nursing Center.

Opal was born on Saturday, August 1, 1925 in Culloden, Georgia to the late Obbie Willis and the late Truddie Jewell Willis Smith. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Roswell Van Milner; sisters, Virginia Willis and Mildred Arnold; brothers, John Cleveland Willis and Thomas Calvin Willis. Opal worked for the William Carter Company as a seamstress and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to sew and do yardwork. Opal loved her church and her church family.

Opal is survived by her daughter, Linda Nicholson of Griffin; son, Aubrey & Sarah Milner of Barnesville; granddaughter, Jessica Wachtel; great-grandchildren, Andrew Everet Wachtel and Alyssa Jewell Wachtel; nephew, Larry Willis; niece, Mary Lynn Pate.

Graveside services for Mrs. Opal Jewell Milner will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Franklin Gibson officiating. Friends may visit the family on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home.
