Patricia "Pat" Ann Morrison Thompson passed away on February 19, 2023, at age 69 after a lengthy illness. She was a gifted pianist and a registered nurse. She enjoyed painting and loved the beach and collecting shells. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville.

She was born on January 11, 1954, in Heflin, Alabama. After graduating from Lineville (AL) High School she attended Jacksonville State University where she earned bachelor's degree in music, psychology & English. While at Jacksonville State she met her future husband, Ernie Thompson. She later earned a nursing degree from Gordon College and then a master's degree in psychology from Georgia College and State University.

After their marriage on Jan. 5, 1980, Ernie and Pat built a life in Barnesville, GA, and cherished their time together. Pat is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ernie Thompson; her three daughters Carly Wright (Bobby), Krista Thompson, and Courtney McBroom (Kevin), and a granddaughter, Tyler Connell, all of Barnesville. She is preceded in death by her father, Milford Morrison, and is survived by her loving mother, Ann Morrison of Delta, AL.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on February 24, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville. Visitation will be held before the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M with Reverend Garth Forster & Reverend Jason Teal officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lamar Memory Gardens.
