Mr. Paul W. Stewart, age 95, of Barnesville, GA. passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his residence in Griffin, Ga
Paul was born on Sunday, January 14, 1923 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Anson Cristi Stewart and the late Annie Kinsey Stewart. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Caroline Leath Stewart. Paul worked for the William Carter Company as a Superintendent of Printing and was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church. He was a Decorated WWII Veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps. Paul is well known for his escapades with the "zoo crew" on the Deer Trail Golf Course. But to the youth of the day, he was best known for his mentorship. He impacted the lives of many through his contributions to scouting, little league sports, and the working environment.
Paul is survived by his children, David Stewart (Cynthia), Julia Stewart Mote (Ed), and Stephen Stewart (Leesa); grandchildren, Paul David Stewart (Nika), Heather Gargano (Marco), April Walker (Ress), Samantha Mote McIntruff (Scott), Amanda Mote Glass, Elizabeth Stewart Bundrick (JB), Cristi Stewart Johnson (Lonny); great-grandchildren, Nicolo Gargano, Marco Gargano, Daniel Glass, Evie Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Eli Johnson, Hayden McIntruff, Luke McIntruff, Alexander Stewart, Nicholas Stewart, Eliza Joy Bundrick, Abigail Bundrick, Ava Walker, Brooke Walker, Sydney Walker; nephew, Jerry Borders (Joann).
Friends may visit at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Saturday July 7th. A memorial service for Mr. Paul W. Stewart will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Breedlove Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens.
