Obituary

Mrs. Peggie Louise Holman Cook, age 74, of Barnesville passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Cook was a native of Bainbridge, but had made her home in Barnesville for a number of years. Daughter of the late Mr. William Othel Holman and the late Mrs. Sarah Dorothy Dean Holman, she was also preceded in death by 2 Sons-in-law: Mr. Jimmy L. Lee, and Mr. Paul D. Hayes; 1 Daughter-in-law: Mrs. Rita Guess Cook; 1 Grand Daughter: Miss Vickie L. Cook; 3 Brothers-in-law: Michael Ash, Allen O'Steen, & Roland White; Her Father-in-law: Mr. Homer B. Cook; and Her Mother-in-law: Mrs. Marie Simmonds Brown.


In addition to being a Faithful Wife and Loving Mother, Mrs. Cook was a Home Maker, Believer in Christ Jesus as LORD, and a member of the Midway Baptist Church.


Survivors include: Husband, Mr. James H. Cook of Barnesville ; 2 Sons: The Reverend & Mrs. James H. Cook, Jr. (wife, Caryla), of Dallas, GA, & Mr. David T. Cook of College Park, GA; 3 Daughters: Mrs. Teresa Cook Carter (husband, Ken), of Newnan, GA, Miss Lisa G. Cook of Barnesville, GA & Mrs. Elizabeth Cook Hayes of Barnesville; 2 Brothers: Mr. & Mrs. William D. Holman (wife, Sherry), of Lincoln, California, and Mr. William O. Holman, of St. Petersburg, Florida; 2 Sisters: Mrs. Rebecca Holman Ash, of Paoli, Indiana, and Mrs. Iris

Holman O'Steen, of High Springs, Florida; 2 Sisters-in-law: Mrs. Jean White, of Stanley, Virginia, and Mrs. Mary Ellen Locklear (husband, Don), of Dover, Florida; 13 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren.


Funeral Services for Mrs. Peggie Louise Cook will be conducted Friday, September 18, 2009 at 2 O'Clock in the Midway Baptist Church, 158 City Pond Road, Barnesville, GA, 30204, with Reverends Ken Burk and James H. Cook, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Barnesville, GA. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Thursday evening (9-17-09) from 6pm until 8pm.
