Reverend George Alfred Stephens, age 77, of Jackson, GA, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, May 11, 1938 in Cartersville, GA to the late Luther D. Stephens and the late Mittie Mae Padgett Stephens. He was pastor of Living Waters Baptist Tabernacle in Oxford. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Jones Stephens; brothers, Luther Stephens, Donald Stephens, Larry Stephens, and Mac Stephens.

Reverend Stephens is survived by his children and their spouses, Angie and David Pollard, Barbara Holbrook, Mark and Dee Stephens, Michael and Beth Stephens; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hope McElheny.

Memorial services for Reverend Alfred Stephens will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Living Waters Baptist Tabernacle with Reverend Frank Mabry officiating. At his request, after the service, the family will visit and enjoy lunch with friends at the church. You may bring a covered dish if you wish.
