Richard S. (Ricky "Snapper") Gilbert, age 67, of Barnesville, GA and formerly of Flovilla, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Brightmoor Hospice. He was born on Wednesday, March 19, 1947 in Jackson, GA to the late Guy Gilbert and the late Maybell Huddleston Gilbert. Ricky proudly served in the United States Army for 14 years, during the Korean War and in VietNam. He owned 2 pool halls, operated his own lawn service, and worked on cars and small engines.

Ricky is survived by his children, Felecia Dee Oliver, Mark Dean Gilbert, and Ricci Linn Estes; grandchildren, Tara Andrews, Kyle Oliver, Troy Peacock, Patrick Gilbert, Richard Cody Peacock, Crystal Rose Mann, Dillon Gilbert; great-grandchild, Alora Peacock; mother of his children, Sharon Gilbert; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ricky "Snapper" Gilbert will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 8, 2014 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham and Mr. Joe Hunter officiating. Interment will be at Flovilla North Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening.
