Obituary


Barnesville, Georgia- Robert E Chamblee, 68, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, into the arms of his Savior. He had strength of character to fight the battle of the amputation of his legs. He lay down to sleep and woke up in the arms of our Savior.


A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the chapel of Williams-Westbury Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home.



Robert was born in Atkins, Michigan.  He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He enjoyed rabbit hunting, training dogs, traveling to find these dogs, riding his Harley motorcycles; but his favorite pastime was fishing.  He was looking forward to his next fishing trip before he was called home.



He was preceded in death by his father, James E Chamblee and mother Iva D Chamblee.  He is survived by his wife, M. Rene Chamblee, his children Lesa Michelle Hood, and grandchildren Peyton Thomas Maynard and Cheridan Delaney Maynard; brothers Curtis Chamblee, Jimmy Chamblee, Billy Chamblee, Bobby Chamblee, and Joe Chamblee; sisters Linda Mullis, Helen Barker, and Nancy Bloodworth.  He has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins he leaves behind.
