Mr. Robert Chester Evans, age 74, of Jackson, GA passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Navicent Health of Macon after a lengthy illness. He was born in Jackson, Georgia on Saturday, July 15, 1944 to the late Lewis Akin Evans and the late Myrtice Rosser Evans. Chester was a member of Jackson United Methodist Church. He enjoyed trout fishing, camping, and being outdoors. Chester loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a proud member of the United States Army and National Guard. Chester was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Evans Colwell, Mary Evans Phillips; brothers, Jimmy Evans, Sheldon Evans.

Chester is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vanilu Evans; children and their spouses, Andy and Cretia Evans, Lacey and James Prue; grandchildren, Jacob Prue and Payton Prue; mother-in-law, Miriam and Roy Sams; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Chester Evans will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 24, 2018 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Chris Shurtz and Reverend Arianna Eberle officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in the Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
