Robert O. Stodghill, age 77, of Jackson, GA, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at The Magnolia's Assisted Living Home. He was born on January 6, 1937 in Jackson, GA to the late Helen Chapman Stodghill and the late Thomas Stodghill. Robert served in the United States Navy. He was a water treatment operator with the Butts County Water Authority, and later worked as a maintenance man for Georgia Power. He enjoyed watching and attending Nascar races to watch his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending any spare time with his family. Robert attended Community Church of Praise.

Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Faye Stodghill; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jay Overby, Debbie and Jimmy Mitchell, Melanie Stodghill; son, Bobby Stodghill; sisters, Sue Dixon and Lucille Arline; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Gerri Stodghill, grandchildren, Jay Overby Jr., Quinton Overby, Devin Belzer and Scott Belzer; great-grandchild, Troy Jackson Overby (TJ); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Robert Stodghill will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Ken Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington.
