Robert Andrew Young, Sr.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating 47 years of his life as a tractor-trailer driver for Overnite and UPS. Through long miles and countless hours on the road, he provided faithfully for his family and built a legacy of perseverance and strength.

A man of deep faith, Robert was a devoted member of Peoples Baptist Church. His love for the Lord guided his life and was evident in the way he cared for others and led his family.

Above all, Robert was a loving husband, a proud father, and a cherished “Papa.” He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Belinda Brooks Young; children, Andy & Janie Young, Jimmy & Angel Young, Jodie & Jason Standard, Paul & Angie Young, and Jacob & Brandi Young; his legacy continues through his 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Robert will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong values, and the love he poured into his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is at peace and united with his Heavenly Father. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Young will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Thomas Satterfield and Pastor Ray Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Jenkinsburg City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
