Mrs. Rose Ellen Carter Blalock, age 74, of Jackson, GA, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She was born Thursday, July 4, 1946, in Beckley, West Virginia, daughter of the late James Franklin Carter, Sr. and the late Wanda Rose Peppers Carter. She was a beautician and liked to crochet, gamble on cruises, and card games. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Blalock Sr., son, Charles Blalock, Jr., and daughter, Wanda Sue Duttenhoffer.

Rose is survived by her children and their spouses, Nancy and Rolando Orellana, Sharon and James Doty, Steven and Cathy Blalock; nine grandchildren, Denise, Charles, Jessica, Elizabeth, Scott, Stephanie, Leigh, Travis and Nichole; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Brock and Jan Martin; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Sandra Carter, James Carter, and Tommy Carter; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Rose Ellen Blalock will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 27, 2020 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Chaplin Ralph Dailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Tanners Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellenwood, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2020 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Shepherd Care Hospice, 1501 Kalamazoo Drive, Griffin, Georgia 30224.
