Mr. Roy L. Davenport, age 70, of McDonough, GA, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at his residence. Roy was born on Friday, September 1, 1944 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Oscar Columbus Davenport and the late Louise Chappell Davenport Stone. He was retired from Sweetheart Plastics. Roy was a member of Grace Baptist Church in McDonough. He loved to work on cars, woodwork, and was an avid fisherman.

Roy is survived by his wife, Alice Long Davenport; children and their spouses, Faye and John Jansen, Sam and Lane Davenport, Patricia and Steven Mills, Terri Harmon, and Jane Matthews; grandchildren, Ashley Jansen Rodriquez, Christine Mathis, Briana Khamphounvong, Bruce Khamphounvong, Daniel Jansen, Samantha Davenport; great-grandchildren, Brannon Mathis and Jack Rodriquez; brother Curtis Davenport; sisters, Darlene Stokes and Alice Davis; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Davenport will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Tim Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in the Stodghill Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
