Roy Donald Hardy, Sr., age 83, of Jackson, GA, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Autumn Village II in Jackson. He was born on May 12, 1930 in Scottdale, GA to the late John William Hardy and the late Alice Naomi Henck Hardy. Roy was a retired LPN from Spalding Regional Hospital and a retired minister. He was inducted into the Butts County Hall of Fame in 2001. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lonnie C. Hardy and James C. Hardy.

Roy is survived by his children, Donna and Reverend Gary Hosch of Athens, John and Wendy Hardy of Oxford, Melvin Hardy of Zebulon, Roy D. Hardy, Jr. of Griffin, Doug and Lori Hardy of Concord; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Ralph J. Hardy of Stockbridge; sisters, Margaret Mobley of Dawsonville; Joann and Bobby Bolton of Lanette, AL, Joyce Moseley of Covington; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services for Roy D. Hardy, Sr. will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Gary Hosch officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday evening.
