Mr. Rudy Ben Knight, age 58, of Barnesville, passed away early Friday morning, January 1, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Knight was a lifelong resident of Lamar County. He was the son of the late Mr. Rudolph C. Knight and the late Mrs. Bernice Barksdale Knight. Mr. Knight was retired from the Lamar County Sheriffs Department. He was the Commander of SCV Camp # 2137 "Barnesville Blues", and also a Past Master of the Pinta Lodge # 88 F&AM. Mr. Knight was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Wife – Sarah Knight of Barnesville; 4 Daughters – Shelley Knight of Barnesville, Christy Hill (& her husband Alex) of Thomaston, Amber Gulledge (& her husband Todd) of Griffin, and Lyndsay Arruda (& her husband Jason) of Griffin; 8 Grandchildren – Jonathan Mitchell, Morgan Arruda, Kaylin Gulledge, Kali Perry, Abigayle Arruda, Justin Perry, Gracyn Perry, and Reagan Hill; and the compatriots of SCV Camp # 2137 "Barnesville Blues" & the Gray Bonnet Society.

Funeral services for Mr. Rudy Knight will be conducted on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11 O'Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon, January 3, 2010 from 5pm-7pm.
