Mrs. Ruth Alice Ellison Rogers, age 86, of McDonough, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson. She was born on Thursday, February 28, 1929 in Calera, AL to the late George Washington Ellison and the late Lular Robertson Ellison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh S. Rogers.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue and Jay Bixler of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Roy and Betty Rogers of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Dr. Larry Dunlap, Jr., Felicia Dunlap, Denise Mitchell, Nanette Foster, and Monica Lynn Daye; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Rogers will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at LifePointe Church of the Nazarene in Covington. Dr. Larry Dunlap, Jr. and Reverend Wayne Rutherford will officiate. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Armstrong Family South Calera Cemetery in Calera, AL.
