Ruth Walker Washington, 92, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

A native of Pike County, Mrs. Washington was born Monday, July 29, 1930, daughter of the late Minnie Tyus Walker and Henry Alvin Walker, Sr. She was the sixth of nine children and the sole survivor. Mrs. Washington retired from the William Carter Company as a sewer and was a beloved and among the oldest member of the Milner Baptist Church. A member of the Woodmen of the World and VFW Auxillary, she enjoyed sewing and her cats. Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her parents, husband  Melvin E. Washington and daughter Eileen Washington.

Survivors include son Dana Washington, daughter and son-in-law, Edith & Dewitt Stevens.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 2, 2022 at the  Milner Baptist Church with Reverend Brad Ellington officiating. Interment will follow in Milner City Cemetery.
