Ryan Hanson Awtry, of Milner, Ga, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Phoebe Putney hospital in Albany, GA. He was born February 7, 1976 to David Warren Awtry and Gayle Crawley Awtry. He attended Rock Springs Church and enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, golf, cooking, singing karaoke, swimming, playing video games with his children, and spending time with his family and many friends. Ryan is survived by his wife, Nikky Awtry; daughter, Morgan Awtry; son, Andrew Awtry; and step-daughter, Aubrey Youngblood. He is survived also by his father, David Awtry; mother and stepfather, Gayle and Gene Shearouse; stepmother, Elizabeth Royeton; sisters, Wendy Ebetino, Jan Sneed, Crystal Lopez, Angela Hobby, Sandy Dillon; brother, Roy Cook; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Awtry; and special friend, Stacy Deriso; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Awtry Waller. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 17 from 5-7 PM at Sherrell Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 at 2 pm at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Benny Tate officiating. Interment will be at Jackson City Cemetery.
