Mr. Sandy Alexander Abbott, Jr., age 82, of Barnesville passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 in a Barnesville Healthcare Facility. A native of Lamar County, Mr. Abbott was the son of the late Mr. Sandy Alexander Abbott, Sr. and the late Mrs. Nora Belle Barksdale Abbott , and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Abbott Rooks. Mr. Abbott was a Deacon and Charter Member of New Life Baptist Church, and had been a faithful employee of The William Carter Company for 50 years.

Mr. Abbott was survived by his wife of 61 years - Dot Abbott of Barnesville ; One Daughter - Rhonda (& Freddy) Miller of Barnesville ; 8 Grandchildren ; 7 Great Grandchildren ; & 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sandy Abbott will be conducted Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 3 O'Clock in New Life Baptist Church with the Reverends Derek Lovelady and Charles Killingsworth, and Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 6pm until 8pm.
