Obituary

Seth "Ray" Davidson, Sr., 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Barnesville, Georgia surrounded by his family. Ray was born on August 10, 1955, in LaGrange, Georgia, to the late Madelyn Smith Davidson and John Davidson.


He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1977. He married Carlette White on August 15, 1987.


Ray was employed with Frito Lay for 27 years. People in Barnesville often called Ray, "Ray-Ray", "Frito Ray", and "The Chip Man". Ray retired in 2017.


Ray was a member of The First Baptist Church of Barnesville where he and Carlette taught the 2nd grade Sunday School class for 27 years.


Ray was a devoted husband, father, and pop. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching football, baseball, basketball, and golf. He was a Georgia Bulldawg for life.


Ray is survived by his loving family, his wife, Carlette White Davidson; daughter, Rachael Davidson Morrison (Steven); son, Seth Ray Davidson, Jr. (Stephanie); grandchildren, Brogen, Brady, Peyton, Ryder, and Hailynn; mother-in-law, Claudine Pippin White; brother, John "Rick" Davidson (Cindy), nieces; Katie Davidson Adams (Shelby) and Abby Davidson Wilder (Adam); sister and brother-in-law, Pippa Lee and Jay Davis; nephews, Jackson Davis (Penelope), Pippin Davis (Kaylee); nieces, Katie Adams (Shelby) and Abby Wilder (Adam). Ray also had several great nieces and nephews.


Funeral Services for Mr. Seth "Ray" Davidson will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at The First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Reverend Garth Forster and Reverend Jason Teal officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the church. Interment will follow the service at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Building Fund for the new Young Adults and Student Center at First Baptist Church.
