Mrs. Shannon Laurel Serene, age 47, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Shannon was born on Monday, July 19, 1971 in Warner Robins, Georgia to Paul Melton Piper and Nedra Angeline Payne Piper. She was a student at Gordon College. Shannon was a member of the Lamar County Democrats and loved History.

Shannon is survived by her husband, Dan Serene; children, Ben Hofer, Victoria Hofer, Colin Serene, Charlie Serene, and Kris Serene; father & mother, Paul & Nedra Piper; sister, Joey Ellington; brother, Tate Piper; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass Service for Mrs. Shannon Serene will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. Peter the Rock Catholic Church with Father Liem Nguyem officiating. Friends may visit at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
