Sidney Earl Thompson, of Jackson, GA, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Westbury Medical Care Home. He was born on November 9, 1926 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Wilber HenryThompson and the late Nellie Victoria Nolbes Thompson. He was of the Methodist faith, veteran of WWII, accomplished harmonica player, enjoyed fishing, gardening, cook-outs, dancing, singing in the church, and loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his wives, Carole Drake Thompson and Idell Altman Thompson.. Sidney is survived by his daughters, Renee' Billingsley, of TX, Rita Wasdin, of Jackson; son, Mark Davis, of TX; brother, Bill Thompson, of Jacksonville, FL; a niece and several nephews. Grave side funeral services for Sidney Thompson will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 8, 2013 at Jones Cemetery in Callahan, FL with Reverend Sue Corley, of the First United Methodist Church of Callahan, officiating.
