Stephen Charles (Steve) Smith, of Jackson, GA, died Monday, January 16, 2012. He was born March 12, 1959 in Macon, GA to the late Jack Morris Smith and Thelma McWhirter. He was a member of Joshua's Place Church and enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching traffic, wrestling, NASCAR, football, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Steve is survived by wife, Renee Lumsden Smith, of Jackson; daughters and son-in-law, Tia Smith, of Lewisburg, TN, Crystal and Adam Cassidy, of Jackson; son, Coty Smith, of Jackson; 3 grandchildren, Hunter and Alex Cassidy, and Taylin Smith; mother, Thelma McWhirter, Flintville, of TN; sister, Sandra Allen, of Flintville, of TN; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Randall and Connie Smith, of Fayetteville, TN, Donald Smith, of Huntland, TN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Beard, and brother, Michael Smith. Funeral services for Steve Smith will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Joshua's Place with Pastor Rick Moncrief officiating. Interment will be at Stodghill Cemetery.
