Mrs. Sue Hosey, of Jackson, GA, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Westbury Medical Care Home. She was born April 24, 1926 in Wetumpka, AL to the late Warren and Ila Leslie Pate. She attended Eagles Brooke Community Church in Jackson, enjoyed cooking, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In later years she enjoyed her time spent at Westbury Medical Care Home where she was once President of the Resident's Counsel. Mrs. Sue is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Brian Weatherly; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Joyce Hosey, Donny Hosey, all of Jackson; 7 grandchildren, Megan Cardell and husband Gerald, Alex Hosey, Justin Weatherly and wife Elizabeth, Mikey Weatherly, David Browning and wife Joey, Matthew Browning and wife Nickie, Benjamin Browning; 5 great-grandchildren, Jesse Cardell, Savannah Newell, Rosalyn Browning, Bella Browning, and Logan Browning; brother, Robert Pate, of Parkdale, AL; niece, Sharon Neja, of Newnan, GA; and nephew, Pete Hosey; of Sylacauga, AL; along with several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Hosey; infant daughter, Sheila Hosey; infant great-granddaughter, Madelyn Cardell; and brother, Warren Pate, Jr. Funeral services for Sue Hosey will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Sherrell officiating. Interment will be at Parkdale Methodist Church Cemetery in Parkdale, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 9:00 PM Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her memory to the Westbury Medical Care Home Activities Fund, 922 McDonough Rd, Jackson, GA 30233. The family wants to thank the Management and Staff at Westbury for making her a part of the family during her residence, and the Staff of Evercare for helping to make her transition peaceful.
