Mrs. Susan Byars, age 77, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 07, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Susan was born on Wednesday, May 19, 1948, in Barnesville, Georgia to the late William Michael Ware and Joyce Andrews Ware. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Tony" Byars, sister, Judy Oliver.

Susan loved her family dearly. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Susan was a lifelong educator and public servant in Lamar County, impacting students of all ages for substantially all of her adult life. Susan was affectionately known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren and countless other family members and friends.

Susan is survived by her son; Jason Byars (Shauna); daughter, Kristen Albritton (Greg); grandchildren, Jacob Byars, Grace Albritton, Aidan Albritton, Adalyn Albritton; brothers, Michael Ware, Gary Ware, several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Susan Byars will be held Friday, July 11, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. at First Baptist Church Barnesville, with Reverend Jason Teal officiating. Friends may visit with family, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Williams Westbury Funeral Home.
