Obituary

Mr. Thomas Jefferson Dimpfl, age 91, of Milner passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 in a Griffin Healthcare Facility. Mr. Dimpfl was a native of Denton, Texas, but had made his home in Milner since 1972. Son of the late Mr. Michael Carl Dimpfl and the late Mrs. Edna Pace Sealy Dimpfl, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Maybelle Hyatt Dimpfl. Mr. Dimpfl was a WWII Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an Aircraft Mechanic. Upon leaving the Air Corps, Mr. Dimpfl went into Civil Service as an Aircraft Mechanic with Webb Air Force Base in Texas. Upon retiring from Civil Service, Mr. Dimpfl moved to Georgia, and began working as a Mechanic for Lamar EMC from around 1975 through about 1983. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church, where he had been a Deacon, and a former Sunday School Teacher.


Survivors include: 1 Daughter - Kay (& Tom) Hassey of Milner ; 2 Grandchildren - Jeff (& Marie) Hassey of Griffin & Craig Hassey of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands ; 3 Great Grandchildren - Matt Hassey, Kristen Hassey, & Chase Hassey, all of Griffin.


Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas Jefferson Hassey will be conducted Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 2 O'Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:30pm until the service hour.
