It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Thomas "Tom" David O'Dell share the news of his passing on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He was a man of immense wisdom and humor, and loved Jesus, family and community. He was 84 years old and is now living eternally with his Heavenly Father. He will be greatly missed.
Tom was born Tuesday, April 2, 1940, in Dothan, Alabama to the late Royce Victor and Juanita Spires O'Dell. Tom attended Auburn University College of Pharmacy and was a proud Tiger. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, where he was Chairman of the Deacons and served on the Honduras Mission Team. Tom acted as Chairman of Butts County Board of Education for 10 years. He was a longtime member of the Lunchbox Breakfast Club. In 1983, Tom received a commendation from Governor Joe Frank Harris. He was an avid golfer with 2 hole-in-ones to his name. He was also one of the founding members of the Greater Gorilla Golfing Group.
