Tommie Lee Abna, age 81, of Jackson, GA, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Sylvan Grove Hosplital. She was born May 14, 1931 in Jonesboro, GA to the late Jasper Mitchell and the late Cleo Turner Mitchell. She enjoyed reading her Bible, playing the guitar, singing, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, William James Abna; sons, Tommy James (TJ) Abna and Denny Ray Abna; granddaughter, Ashley Paige Scarborough; 5 sisters and a brother. Tommie is survived by 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Gentry, of Jackson, Pam Howell, of Jackson, Joy and Rayburn Hill, of Brunswick, Charlotte and John Terris, of Brunswick; son, Vernon Abna, of Jackson; 2 sisters, Virginia Wheeler, of DeLand, Fl, Betty Walden, of Locust Grove; brother, Eugene Mitchell, of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews Funeral services for Tommie Abna will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will be at Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 - 9:00 PM Monday evening.
