Vergie Mae Guffin, of Jackson, GA, died Sunday, February 26, 2012. She was born May 11, 1928 in Suwanee, GA to the late Emory and Donelle Whitehead. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, word search, her time at Autumn Village and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vergie is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Lyndon (Dink) Johnson; 2 granddaughters, Kim and Christie Johnson; 2 great- grandchildren, Michael and Gabriella Reems, all of Jackson; a brother, Bill Whitehead, of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 yrs, Marvin Guffin, 2 sisters and 6 brothers. Grave side funeral services for Vergie Guffin will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville with Rev. John Sherrell officiating.
