Mr. Oscar Wayne Lawhon, age 66, Jackson, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Sacred Journey Hospice.

Wayne was born on January 16, 1947 in Jackson, Georgia to the late Henry J. Lawhon and the late Myrtle Young Lawhon. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Tom Jones, Luther Jones, and Frankie Lawhon. Wayne was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from General Motors and attended Heritage Baptist Church.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Teena Norsworthy Lawhon; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Kevin Carmichael; son, Stephen Wayne Lawhon; grandchildren, Brittany Carmichael, Mylah Swann, Thomas Carmichael, Greer Potter, Charis Wilson; sister, Myrna Warner; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Lawhon will be conducted on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church. Pastor Terrell Hopkins will officiate. Interment will follow in Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wayne will lie in state at Heritage Baptist Church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
