Wiliam Aubrey (Coach Billy) Malpass, of Jackson, GA, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Vitas Hospice. He was born October 22, 1944 in Atlanta, GA to the late William Frank and Annie Mae Bratcher Malpass. He was a member of IBEW Local #613, employed by Allison Smith Company, and coached sports since the age of 19. He enjoyed golf, coaching, the outdoors, and spending time with his family. Billy is survived by his wife of 25 yrs, Martha Poston Malpass, of Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, DeAnn and Chip Esposito, of McDonough; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Artye and Stephanie Malpass, of Hampton, Tony and Donna Poston, of Ft. Wayne, IN, Randy and Jean Poston, of Nashville, TN; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchild; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Kate and Joe Satterfield, of Maryville, TN, Shirley and Foy Futrell, of Richlands, NC, Gladys and Rickey Blackburn, of Jackson, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Thad Malpass; 2 sisters, Victoria Malpass and Jessie Mae Hicock; and 2 brothers, Junior Malpass and Benjamin Malpass. Services for Billy Malpass will be held Friday, June 17, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Chapel of Sherrell Funeral Home with Chaplain Mark Whiting officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Thursday evening.
